Requirements

Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency - REQUIRED.
Board Eligible/Board Certified in the appropriate specialty - REQUIRED.
Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED.
At least one professional reference within the past 24 months - REQUIRED.
No visa sponsorship available - REQUIRED.
Interest in resident education and academic medicine - REQUIRED.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment - REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

Clean malpractice and license history - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care - HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track.
Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment.
Provide real-time clinical teaching in primary care, population health, value-based care, and health equity-focused practice.
Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health, community-engaged care approaches, and equity-centered clinical decision-making.
Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops.
Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives and health equity research.
Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the clinic using evidence-based guidelines.
Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic.
Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities.
