Requirements

  • Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency - REQUIRED.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in the appropriate specialty - REQUIRED.
  • Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED.
  • At least one professional reference within the past 24 months - REQUIRED.
  • No visa sponsorship available - REQUIRED.
  • Interest in resident education and academic medicine - REQUIRED.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment - REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Clean malpractice and license history - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
  • Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care - HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track.
  • Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment.
  • Provide real-time clinical teaching in primary care, population health, value-based care, and health equity-focused practice.
  • Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health, community-engaged care approaches, and equity-centered clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops.
  • Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives and health equity research.
  • Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the clinic using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic.
  • Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities.
