About The Position

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Fall 2026 Internal Audit Intern from approximately August - early December 2026. The Intern will conduct routine auditing assignments for the Internal Audit department under direct supervision.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Internal Audit, or Finance or a related field
• Junior Classification
• Coursework in auditing, internal controls, or regulatory compliance
• Basic understanding of internal controls and SOX 404 requirements
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and interpret data accurately
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information

Nice To Haves

• GPA 3.3 or higher
• Experience with audit or GRC tools (e.g., AuditBoard, Workiva, SAP, Oracle) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of key controls, including control effectiveness and exception analysis under supervision
• Identify control deficiencies and assist in drafting observations and recommendations
• Collaborate with process owners to understand controls and obtain supporting documentation
• Maintain and organize audit workpapers in compliance with Internal Audit documentation standards
• Assist in tracking and following up on remediation of control deficiencies
• Participate in Internal Audit projects as needed
