Intern, Module Validation

Ayar Labs•San Jose, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Ayar Labs is seeking a highly motivated graduate intern to join its laser validation group within the Laser Development team. The intern will inspect laser modules for conformance to specifications and investigate the limits of their operation. Projects are tailored to the intern’s experience and interests, with mentorship from a senior engineer and collaboration with an experienced team developing the laser source product. The intern will execute tests and experiments to advance the laser module through a product development gate. This includes testing production parts against validation requirements and beyond their specified operating range to assess whether performance remains stable at volume. The role also supports validation of engineering modules, including alternative laser sources and modules developed in project work. Test activities may involve modifying instrumental and mechanical setups, mechanical and optical alignment, optimizing data acquisition software, and analyzing data. The position is an on-site internship at the San Jose office, running from May to August 2027. Ayar Labs states that immigration support is unavailable except for F-1 students, and relocation support is not provided.
