Intern, Module Validation

Ayar Labs•San Jose, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Ayar Labs is seeking a highly motivated graduate intern to join its laser validation group within the Laser development team. The intern will inspect whether laser modules conform to specifications and explore the limits of their operation. Projects will be tailored to the intern’s experience and interests, with mentorship from a senior engineer and collaboration with an experienced team developing the laser source product. The intern will execute tests and experiments to help advance the laser module through a product development gate. This includes testing production parts, investigating their conformance to specifications, and testing beyond the required operating range to assess whether module performance remains stable in volume. The intern will also support validation of engineering modules, including alternative laser sources and modules made within development projects, and help modify instrument and mechanical setups for individual tests. Work may involve mechanical and optical alignment, data-acquisition software optimization, and data analysis. This is an on-site position in Ayar Labs’ San Jose office for a May–August 2027 term. The company does not provide immigration support except for F-1 visa holders, or relocation support. The posting expires upon reaching its application threshold.
