About The Position

ASM is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join its engineering team and gain hands-on experience supporting the design, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems used in advanced semiconductor equipment. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and learn how complex equipment is designed, built, tested, and qualified. The position includes a defined technical project with clear objectives and deliverables, mentorship and technical guidance, hands-on engineering activities, and a final presentation of project work and key learnings. The intern will support mechanical engineering projects involving design and development, engineering calculations and analysis, CAD models and drawings, prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering documentation. The role provides exposure to systems such as reactors, vacuum chambers, gas delivery systems, pneumatics, cooling circuits, and vacuum systems, as well as materials, manufacturing methods, tolerances, coatings, and surface finishes. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams and participate in design reviews and technical problem-solving. This position is specifically designed as a student internship. Candidates should be actively pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline and meet applicable internship eligibility requirements.
