About The Position

Join OCTA's Learning & Development team as a College Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting employee training, professional development, and organizational learning initiatives. In this role, you will assist with the coordination of training programs, preparation of learning materials, data analysis, and administrative activities that support employee development across the organization. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to a variety of learning opportunities, including employee onboarding, skill-building workshops, and leadership development programs. Under direct supervision, you will perform a variety of professional entry-level duties related to your major field of study and the sponsoring department's current business operations. As a College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking. OCTA's College Intern Program is a year-round paid student/intern program. You will gain real-world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of transportation and marketing professionals. You will have opportunities to strengthen your problem-solving, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills while working with a mentor and building your professional network.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Interest in employee learning, training, professional development, or human resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in in-person and virtual team environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the judgment to ask questions, seek clarification, and take initiative when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AP style is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for employee training and development initiatives.
  • Assist with preparing, organizing, and maintaining training materials and resources.
  • Support in-person workshops and training programs, including employee onboarding, skill-building classes, and leadership development programs.
  • Assist with training-related data collection, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate program logistics and provide support before, during, and after training sessions.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development staff on special projects and other employee development initiatives.
