About The Position

Calgary Economic Development (CED) is an opportunity-maker, helping to spark and fuel Calgary’s growth by connecting people with resources to grow careers or businesses, thrive in new locations, and feel at home in the community. CED promotes Calgary globally and is involved in shaping its story as the Blue Sky City. This specific role supports the planning and execution of community engagement programs designed to promote Calgary as a prime location for business, investment, and career growth. This is an 8-week term position.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education (Business, Economics, International Relations, or related field)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in corporate and community partnerships
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders (Teamwork)
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (Adaptability)

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Youth hired for a Canada Summer Job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laid-off and are awaiting recall, employees on vacation, employees on maternity or parental leave
  • International students are not eligible participants

Responsibilities

  • Support in accurate tracking of Team Calgary partners and hosted events
  • Input new information and ensure administrative processes are current and correct
  • Utilize CRM, Monday.com and Excel to update and manage key documents
  • Assist in creating annual engagement reports for Team Calgary partners
  • Work from established templates to produce partner reports
  • Review and refine materials to ensure reports are thorough, accurate, and easy to read
  • Engage with other members of the organization to retrieve all relevant information for the reports
  • Support in creation of communication templates to be used by the Team Calgary team throughout the year
  • Support the administration and execution of key Team Calgary events
  • Prepare registration lists and assist in implementing event plans
  • Provide on-site support during events as needed
  • Engage and network with Team Calgary partners during events
  • Event involvement will vary based on internship timing
