About The Position

This 8–10 week internship provides college students with a development and practical application experience to assess their interest and aptitude for a career in insurance. Interns explore the insurance industry and the Truist Insurance Holdings organization, including how its entities contribute to organizational success. They gain general insurance and business knowledge, experience the organization’s culture, and support organizational goals while developing leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Interns work with teammates across various entities to expand their insurance knowledge.

Requirements

• Be working toward a bachelor’s degree in Insurance and/or Risk Management, Business, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, another business, analytical, computer science, or data-related field, another relevant degree, or an advanced degree at an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrate strong academic performance.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional composure.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Learn about insurance, industry workflows, and assigned divisions within the organization.
• Develop analytical, technical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal learning opportunities.
• Complete special projects or assignments that support the department’s mission and provide insight into the corporate environment.
• Satisfactorily complete all prescribed training.
• Network with senior leaders, experienced teammates, and other interns to develop professional connections.
• Receive formal and informal feedback throughout the program.
