About The Position

Interns will work 20 hours per week for up to 24 weeks. The breakdown of work per week will vary depending on intern needs, Ablr staff availability, and the needs of the department. The 20 hours will consist of Accessibility Testing, Job Shadowing, Content Creation, Initiative Hours, and Administrative Hours.

Requirements

• Must be available to work 20 hours per week for up to 24 weeks.
• Willingness to learn and utilize Axe Auditor accessibility testing software.
• Ability to analyze websites for compliance with accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
• Willingness to participate in feedback meetings and write reports.
• Ability to observe and learn from Ablr staff.
• Skills in writing assignments and reporting findings.
• Interest in social media marketing projects.
• Ability to complete independent tasks and online courses.
• Proficiency in time tracking and completing reflection reports.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Axe Auditor accessibility testing software to analyze websites for compliance with accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
• Participate in weekly feedback meetings on testing progress.
• Write reports on accessibility testing findings.
• Observe Ablr staff on day-to-day work tasks to gain understanding of core competencies and work strategies in the field of digital accessibility.
• Engage in writing assignments, reporting findings, and social media marketing projects for the workforce development program.
• Complete independent tasks such as the Trusted Tester online course, CPACC preparation, or completing webinars on relevant topics.
• Complete administrative tasks such as time tracking and reflection reports to be sent to Division of Services for the Blind counselors.
