About The Position
The Interim Support Lead is a temporary member of the store management team who reports to the Store Manager. The role helps ensure customers have an outstanding shopping experience by supporting front-end operations, cash management, merchandising, cleanliness, safety, and sales. The Support Lead also serves as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts and helps set the tone by living Five Below’s values. This temporary opportunity provides leadership experience and business support during the busiest time of year or to cover a management team member’s leave of absence.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Creative thinking.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts; travel may be required.
Nice To Haves
- College experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure crew members provide customers with personal, attentive service.
- Train crew members on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience and help ensure guests receive fast, friendly checkout.
- Help oversee store associates’ daily activities and support effective performance and customer service.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing stock for efficient placement on the sales floor.
- Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
- Manage store opening or closing procedures, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing for daily operations.
- Support associate onboarding and ongoing training in store policies, product knowledge, and operating procedures.
- Drive sales and control expenses by seeking ways to improve merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
- Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
- Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
