About The Position

The Manager II, E-Commerce, is responsible for day-to-day operations of E-Commerce and general management of staff and warehouse operations. This position manages several areas of operation to include, but not limited to, E-Books, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Management, Collectibles, Photography/Listing, Quality Control, Jewelry Processing, and Customer Service. The E-Commerce Manager will be held accountable for the department’s performance to accomplish profitability through managing operations such as budgeting, financial reporting, profit and loss, internal partnering, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and metric measuring, and the identification of high-quality donated goods. This includes but is not limited to ensuring well written on-line listings, establishing and maintaining departmental Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and ensuring loss prevention and safety guidelines are followed, that we utilize pricing algorithms and focus on customer relations.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience must have significant experience in employee supervision and training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in management of E-Commerce systems in an omnichannel retail environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in light manufacturing management, with particular attention to inventory, change control, and process management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the identification and implementation of new systems, best practices, and procedures in the rapidly evolving world of E-Commerce technology.
  • Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment surrounding the E-Commerce function in areas such as sales tax, shipping regulations, etc.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and hold team accountable for excellent customer service.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, using both oral and written skills, with customers, staff, management peers, and leadership.
  • The aptitude to manage expenses and a revenue budget.
  • Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
  • Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively train, oversee safety standards, move and store donated when needed.
  • Must be able to work varied schedules to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Available for after-hours communication for security and/or emergency situations.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business.
  • Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
  • Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field is desired; equivalent experience may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

  • Leads efforts in developing the business model in support of Goodwill of Colorado’s strategic plans.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of all activities for the department to ensure that performance provides satisfactory financial support for the organization.
  • Partners with the E-Commerce Director to set operations and sales annual goals and objectives and capital budget for the department. Analyzes and researches variances between actual and budget performance. Quickly take action to minimize any negative variance.
  • Synthesize data-driven reporting with analytical recommendations for action steps to improve results. Analyzes workflow processes to recommend and implement process improvements to ensure rapid and efficient operations.
  • Provides creative and innovative solutions for efficiency within the department.
  • Maintains positive account health on key selling platforms through monitoring and corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with Retail Management to meet sales objectives and sales forecasts for E-Commerce goals.
  • Coordinate training of staff to effectively identify collectable and/or valuable merchandise (all locations).
  • Direct and maintains activities by managing sales, production, and shipping, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, handling personnel issues, accounting, merchandising, loss prevention, and development of staff.
  • Ensures that excellent customer service standards are upheld and that customer service ratings are at an acceptable level.
  • Implements and updates of all SOPs pertinent to the department.
  • Tracks and evaluates site user behavior and makes recommendations to improve user experience and sales conversion.
  • Oversee purchases and distribution of E-Commerce related supplies and periodically researches vendors for best pricing, quality, and services.
  • Reviews sellers’ information on ShopGoodwill.com, Amazon, eBay, and all other marketplaces to ensure that it is compliant with requirements related to posting of items, description etiquette, and other criteria.
  • Safeguards company property. Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Risk Department and Sales/Operations leadership.
  • Ensures the E-Commerce area maintains active participation in the safety committee. Implement procedures in safety, security, and loss prevention; respond to all alarm and police calls.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adhere to Goodwill policies, procedures, and safety standards.
