About The Position

Davis Behavioral Health is recruiting a full-time Intensive Services Outpatient Therapist for its Adult Mental Health team. The position is based at the DBH Layton Clinic, with most work conducted in the community throughout Davis County. The therapist provides office- and community-based services to high-acuity clients, including people who are involuntarily committed, dual-diagnosis clients, Assertive Outreach Treatment (AOT) participants, and housing-involved individuals. The role includes evaluation, treatment planning, outreach, family engagement, direct clinical services, and coordination across programs and service systems to support continuity of care. The therapist conducts assessments and diagnoses, develops and updates individualized treatment plans, and provides individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions. Position-specific duties include serving as the primary clinician for mental health evaluations for committed clients; providing ongoing assessment, stabilization, and treatment planning; maintaining an approximate caseload of 60–80 clients; and facilitating dual-diagnosis groups. The therapist also engages families and natural supports when clinically appropriate, coordinates with housing clients and families, conducts community outreach, and collaborates with case managers, prescribers, housing teams, court systems, and other community agencies. The position is full-time and exempt, with a 40-hour workweek. Schedules are set to meet client and agency needs and may change by shift or location. Work takes place in a combination of office and community settings, including clinics, client homes, courts, hospitals, and other locations as clinically indicated. The role requires flexibility and travel within the county; use of a personal vehicle may be required, with mileage reimbursement under organizational policy. Compensation for fully licensed clinicians has an approved base range of $77,000–$88,000 per year, with a starting annual rate of $77,000 and credit for years of full-licensure experience. A $3,000 annual Spanish-language incentive stipend is available after passing a Spanish assessment. Under-licensed clinicians (CSW or ACMHC) are paid $65,000 per year. An optional hybrid base-rate-plus-incentive model is available to interested candidates. Candidates must hold a qualifying master’s degree in social work or a related field. Utah clinical licensure is strongly preferred; the position may be filled by a Utah-licensed CSW, ACMHC, or AMFT nearing full clinical licensure and actively pursuing it. A current Designated Examiner (DE) certification is strongly preferred; eligible candidates who are not yet certified must obtain it after hire, and certification is required once eligibility criteria are met. Candidates must pass pre-employment criminal background and drug screenings. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for coverage by DBH insurance.
