Outpatient Mental Health Therapist
About The Position
Community Counseling Center (CCC) is hiring an Outpatient Therapist to provide counseling to adults, children, and families with a wide range of needs, from life transitions to more complex conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The therapist will use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team. The typical caseload is 80–85 clients, with dedicated administrative staff supporting the role by handling scheduling, billing, and insurance credentialing. The position serves locations in Perryville and Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Employees may choose a four-day schedule of four 10-hour days (7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) or a traditional five-day schedule of eight-hour days (7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.). Provisionally licensed therapists receive free clinical supervision. CCC has served the community since 1974 and describes its environment as collaborative and team-based.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- LMSW, PLPC, LCSW, or LPC license, or eligibility for licensure; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license or state ID for the applicant’s current state of residence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, family, and/or group therapy with assigned clients.
- Complete intakes, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and the DLA-20 as required by agency standards.
- Attend appropriate staffing, treatment planning, record review, and peer review meetings associated with clinical duties.
- Document according to clinical policies and procedures and applicable DMH, CARF, and other federal or state program standards.
- Maintain the appropriate license by completing continuing education requirements and license renewal.
- Follow up on missed appointments.
- Coordinate services with internal and external providers.
