About The Position

Mach Industries is seeking a detail-oriented, safety-focused Integration Technician to assemble and integrate solid rocket motors, pyroflares, and other energetic hardware for defense systems. The technician builds component, sub-level, and full-level assemblies according to released work instructions and approved manufacturing processes, while maintaining safety, quality, and material traceability standards. The role works closely with Propulsion Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Test teams to complete assemblies accurately and prepare them for downstream operations and testing. The position includes mechanical assembly, fit-up, material verification, safety reviews, controlled handling of energetic materials, recordkeeping, self-inspections, and support for pilot builds and production ramp activities. The technician also helps document assembly issues and nonconformances, transfers completed assemblies with complete records, and maintains organized workstations using 5S practices. Work may involve alternate shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed. Applicants must meet the stated U.S. export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, or mechanical assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, bills of material (BOM), manufacturing travelers, and controlled assembly documentation.
  • Experience using basic hand tools, assembly fixtures, measurement equipment, and other production tooling in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices, including PPE, hazard communication, pre-task risk assessments, and following approved procedures without deviation.
  • Strong attention to detail, disciplined recordkeeping, and commitment to component identification, traceability, configuration control, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work safely around hazardous materials and energetic hardware after completing required facility-specific training and authorization.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with flexibility to respond to changing production priorities.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform repetitive manufacturing tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work alternate shifts or extended hours as needed, including extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience assembling solid rocket motors, pyrotechnic or flare devices, propulsion hardware, or other energetic assemblies in an authorized manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, propulsion, or another high-reliability, safety-critical manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with MES, Jira, ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, and serialized or lot-controlled manufacturing records.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality practices, in-process inspection, nonconformance reporting, and root-cause corrective actions.
  • Experience with precision mechanical assembly, calibrated tooling, fit-up verification, and controlled hardware integration.
  • Exposure to energetic material hazard awareness, equipment readiness reviews, controlled work areas, and emergency response preparedness.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), low-rate initial production (LRIP), or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing programs.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management, Kaizen, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Build and integrate solid rocket motor components, pyroflares, and other energetic hardware assemblies according to released work instructions, engineering drawings, and approved build plans.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and fit-up using approved tooling, fixtures, and calibrated equipment while maintaining tool control and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention.
  • Receive and verify authorized components, material identification, lot/serial information, and required documentation with propulsion technicians, test, and material handling teams.
  • Follow controls for handling, staging, transfer, and storage of energetic materials and assemblies; perform restricted activities only after required training and authorization.
  • Complete pre-task safety reviews and verify PPE, equipment readiness, and protective controls; stop and escalate work when hazards, damage, or deviations are identified.
  • Document assembly steps, component genealogy, configuration, inspections, and material movements using MES, travelers, and other controlled records.
  • Perform self-inspections and support in-process quality checks, inspection hold points, and final acceptance activities.
  • Support pilot builds, new product introduction, line trials, and production ramp activities with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist engineers and Quality teams in documenting assembly issues, investigating nonconformances, and implementing approved corrective actions; do not make unauthorized process changes.
  • Prepare and transfer completed assemblies and test articles to authorized downstream operations and Test teams with complete records and clear handoffs.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations using 5S practices, equipment accountability, material segregation, and approved housekeeping requirements.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, communicate across shifts, adapt to changing production priorities, and support continuous improvement and qualified on-the-job training.
