About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) for its Fort Wayne, Indiana location. The role manages the complete medical intake process to support a seamless transition into treatment, performs nursing shift duties, coordinates pharmacy and prescription needs, dispenses medication, maintains medication logs, collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, and ensures complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client. The facility is a 100-bed residential center providing drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services.

Requirements

• Complete a minimum one-year diploma program after high school.
• Hold current licensure to practice in the state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented and able to multitask and work efficiently.
• Demonstrate a compassionate and dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete medical intake process to ensure a seamless transition into treatment.
• Complete nursing shift duties, including taking vitals, conducting drug screens, and scheduling appointments and lab work.
• Coordinate pharmacy and prescription needs, dispense medication, and maintain accurate medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.
