About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) for its Fort Wayne, Indiana location. The nurse manages the complete medical intake process to support a seamless transition into treatment, performs nursing shift duties, coordinates pharmacy and prescription needs, and works with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care. The role also requires complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.

The position is based at Avenues Recovery Center at Fort Wayne, a 100-bed residential facility providing drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The center's staff includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, group facilitators, and behavioral health technicians, who work together to provide compassionate and dignified care.

The evening shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Minimum one-year post-high-school diploma program.
• Current licensure to practice in the state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work efficiently.
• Compassionate and dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete medical intake process to ensure a seamless transition into treatment.
• Complete nursing shift duties, including taking vitals, conducting drug screens, and scheduling appointments and lab work.
• Coordinate pharmacy and prescription needs, dispense medication, and maintain accurate medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.
