About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring an Intake Nurse (RN) for its residential facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role manages the complete medical intake process to support clients’ transition into treatment, performs nursing shift duties, coordinates medication and prescription needs, collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, and maintains accurate and timely medical documentation. The position is for first shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Avenues Recovery Center at Indianapolis, a 144-bed detox and residential rehabilitation facility. The facility offers evidence-based clinical treatment, comprehensive medical care, and medication-assisted treatment options in a multidisciplinary, recently remodeled setting.

Requirements

• Complete a minimum one-year diploma program after high school.
• Hold current licensure required to practice in the state, or compact licensure with multistate privileges.
• Have addiction-related experience.
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented and able to multitask and work efficiently.
• Have a compassionate and dignified character that models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete medical intake process to ensure a seamless transition into treatment.
• Complete nursing shift duties, including taking vitals, conducting drug screens, and scheduling appointments and lab work.
• Coordinate pharmacy and prescription needs, dispense medication, and maintain accurate medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation for each client.
