Intake Coordinator - McKinney, TX
About The Position
Local Infusion is hiring an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, called an “Infusion Guide,” to coordinate infusion referrals and intake while providing excellent service to patients and referring providers. The role contributes to the company’s growth and supports patients in receiving high-quality infusion therapy care. This is a full-time, onsite position at Local Infusion’s center in McKinney, Texas, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The ideal candidate has experience reading medical charts and handling insurance pre-authorizations. The position offers predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload, along with a six-week training plan.
Requirements
- Passion for patient care and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
- Healthcare experience.
- Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
- Experience with medical terminology.
- Overall medical insurance experience.
- Ability to quickly learn new apps.
- Strong familiarity and experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Provide documentation of a negative TB test from within the last two years.
- Hold a current BLS certification.

- Prior experience in infusion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigations.
- Work with referring providers to obtain treatment documentation and communicate the status of their patients.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric manner.
- Communicate openly with referring and prescribing providers.
- Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
