Intake Coordinator - Plainview, NY
About The Position
Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an “Infusion Guide,” to coordinate infusion referrals and intake and provide excellent service to patients and referring providers. The role supports the company’s growth and helps ensure patients receive a high level of infusion therapy care. This is a full-time, onsite position at the Local Infusion center in Plainview, NY, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position offers a salary starting at $25 per hour, a quarterly bonus based on metrics, and benefits. A dedicated six-week training plan is provided. The role is described as offering predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload. Candidates must have healthcare experience, experience with insurance prior authorizations, medical terminology experience, and overall medical insurance experience. Prior infusion experience is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with electronic health record systems and able to quickly learn new apps. Intake Coordinators must provide documentation of a negative TB test taken within the last two years and current BLS certification. Hepatitis B and influenza vaccination records are requested during onboarding.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
- Work with referring providers to obtain documentation needed for treatment and communicate the status of their patients.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric manner.
- Communicate openly with referring and prescribing providers.
- Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
