Intake Coordinator - Winchester, VA
About The Position
Local Infusion is hiring an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an “Infusion Guide,” to coordinate infusion referrals and intake while providing excellent service to patients and referring providers. The role contributes to company growth and helps ensure patients receive a high level of infusion therapy care. It is full-time and onsite at the Local Infusion center in Winchester, Virginia, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The starting rate is $25 per hour, with a quarterly bonus based on metrics and full benefits. A dedicated six-week training plan is provided. The role is suited to someone who wants predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload while working in healthcare innovation. Requirements
- Healthcare experience is required.
- Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
- Medical terminology experience.
- Overall medical insurance experience.
- Ability to quickly grasp new apps.
- Strong familiarity with and experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Provide documentation of a negative TB test completed within the last two years.
- Hold current BLS certification.

Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
- Liaise with referring providers to obtain documentation needed for treatment and communicate patient status.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric way.
- Communicate openly with referring and prescribing providers.
- Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
