Intake Coordinator - Lynchburg, VA
About The Position
Local Infusion is hiring an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an “Infusion Guide,” to coordinate infusion referrals and intake while providing excellent service to patients and referring providers. The role contributes to company growth and helps ensure patients receive a high level of infusion therapy care. This is a full-time, onsite position at Local Infusion’s Lynchburg, Virginia center. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role offers predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload. Salary starts at $25 per hour, with a quarterly bonus based on metrics and full benefits. A dedicated six-week training plan is provided. Intake Coordinators must provide documentation of a negative TB test from within the last two years and a current BLS certification. Hepatitis B and influenza vaccination records are also requested during onboarding.
Requirements
- Healthcare experience.
- Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
- Experience with medical terminology.
- Overall medical insurance experience.
- Ability to quickly learn new apps.
- Experience and strong familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Documentation of a negative TB test from within the last two years.
- Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigation.
- Work with referring providers to obtain documentation needed for treatment and communicate patient status.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric manner.
- Communicate openly with referring and prescribing providers.
- Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
