About The Position

The Intake & Admissions Specialist manages referrals for admissions at the Community Center for Child and Adolescent services. The role includes screening referrals for appropriateness, providing information and referral services to people who are not eligible or when beds are unavailable, communicating referral details internally, and maintaining referral and admission statistics. Referral management may take place during day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Understanding of the Code of Virginia relating to child mental health issues.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a variety of community agency representatives.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency using computers.
• Knowledge and understanding of CSA and mental health resources for children and adolescents.

Nice To Haves

• College degree in social work, human services, or another related field.
• Previous knowledge and/or experience with intake and admissions and/or child and adolescent mental health issues and resources.
