About The Position

The Intake & Admissions Specialist manages referrals for admissions at the Community Center for Child and Adolescent. The role screens referrals for appropriateness, provides information and referral services to people who are not eligible or when beds are unavailable, communicates referral details internally, and maintains referral and admission statistics. Admissions referrals may be handled during day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Understand the Code of Virginia relating to child mental health issues.
• Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a variety of community agency representatives.
• Have effective written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Be proficient with computers.
• Have knowledge and understanding of CSA and mental health resources for children and adolescents.

Nice To Haves

• A college degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
• Previous knowledge or experience with intake and admissions and/or child and adolescent mental health issues and resources.
