About The Position

Armed Forces Insurance is hiring a remote Insurance Agent for its New Member Sales Team. The role helps prospective members identify personal lines insurance solutions that fit their needs and contributes to business growth through relationship-building and exceptional member service. The position is intended for eligible military spouses with an active Property & Casualty insurance license. Candidates must reside in an approved state and, to qualify for a fully remote role, live more than 50 miles from AFI headquarters in Leavenworth, Kansas. New hires attend their first week of onboarding and initial training onsite at headquarters; AFI reimburses reasonable transportation, lodging, and meal expenses. Starting pay is $49,925–$58,246 per year, depending on experience, and is not commission-based.

Requirements

• Must be the spouse of an active-duty Armed Forces member, the spouse of a member who is 100% disabled due to a service-connected injury, or the spouse of a service member killed while on active duty.
• Must reside in one of the approved states: AL, AZ, AR, IA, KS, LA, MO, NE, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, or VA.
• An active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license in the state of primary residence.
• At least 4 years of direct customer service or relevant experience; an associate degree or BA/BS degree may be substituted for experience.
• Keyboard skills of at least 35 wpm.
• Competent written communication skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including a courteous, confident demeanor and appropriate grammar and vocabulary.
• Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to accomplish work according to established priorities and procedures.
• Ability to obtain non-resident licenses for all 50 states within 90 days in the position and maintain unrestricted licensure thereafter.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from AFI headquarters in Leavenworth, Kansas, to qualify for a fully remote role.
• Must attend the first week of employment onsite at AFI headquarters for onboarding and initial training.
