About The Position

Turner Industries Group, LLC has openings for Instrument Fitters to join our team at Pemex located in Deer Park, TX. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the foreman and performs a variety of routine duties with established policies. NO per diem or relocation is available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the area. The role is 40 hours per week with overtime and call outs as needed. The company is seeking skilled Journeymen. This position involves planning layout, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping and tubing. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate pipe and material, installing new or modifying/repairing existing installations, measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing primary piping and tubing. The role also involves installing tubing, multitude bundles, junction boxes, instruments, air piping, and connecting all piping and tubing to equipment. Leak testing of all installed piping and tubing is required, as is observing installed instruments and systems to determine hazards and the need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement. The position may involve repairing faulty equipment or systems and minimizing material waste while avoiding unsightly, hazardous, or unreliable installations.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
  • OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans layout, fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping and tubing.

  • Connects all piping and tubing to equipment.
  • Leak tests all piping and tubing installed.
  • Observes all installed instrument and systems to determine hazards, need for adjustment, relocation or replacement.
  • May repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Minimizes waste of material and avoids unsightly, hazardous or unreliable installations.
  • Bending and running tubing.
  • Fabricating small runs of screw piping.
  • Replacing steam traps.
