About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course PHIL 2P95 Bioethics for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for a full course is $15,775.20, with an estimated 390 hours of work. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Requirements

  • PhD in Philosophy
  • Demonstrated competence or specialization in Bioethics, and applied moral and ethical philosophy
  • Evidence of recent, competent and effective teaching experience in Philosophy at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations)
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication and online teaching technology skills (e.g., Sakai, MS Teams, MS Streams, etc.)
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Philosophy

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
  • Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
