About The Position

West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure, Instructor-level faculty member for the Medical Laboratory Science Programs (MLS). The position is within the Department of Pathology, Anatomy, and Laboratory Medicine and part of the School of Medicine. The Division includes four NAACLS accredited programs: Medical Laboratory Science (B.S. and M.S.), Histotechnology, and Pathologists’ Assistant. The School of Medicine is part of a thriving academic medical center with Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health, offering opportunities for interprofessional education, collaborative practice, and research.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS or a related discipline.
• National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist).
• Clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Classroom and laboratory teaching within the two MLS Programs.
• Assistant teaching in the student laboratories.
• Serve as the MLS Student Laboratory Manager and Safety Officer.
• Secondary teaching assignments.
• Student advising and recruiting.
• Participation in the service and research missions of the School of Medicine.
