About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill two existing vacancies for an Instructor for VISA 1P95 Digital Foundation. This course covers the technical foundations of digital images and media methods, including web-based content, digital photography, and image processing software. It also explores the foundations of digital media in video, audio, and computational production and post-production, as well as contemporary digital practices within the broader history of visual and media arts. The position involves lectures and lab sessions, totaling 4 hours per week, and is delivered face-to-face during the Winter Term.

Requirements

MFA is required.
Previous teaching experience of at least two years at the university level is required.
Familiarity with all diverse instructional approaches to teaching basic technical and design conceptual foundations in the production of still and moving images, websites, web-based media, production including image processing, interactive web design and multimedia production.
Ability to cite contemporary digital practices within the history of cultural production, tracing developments in technology and media arts.
A record of professional activity and exhibitions in the area of digital media demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
