About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the Course Title: PSYC 4P56 Maturation and Development for the Fall 2026 academic term. The compensation for this position is $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) effective September 1, 2026. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. The nominal workload for instructors is 195 hours per half-credit course, with duties and responsibilities in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Psychology, or ABD in Psychology, status is required.

Members shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours (i.e., not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.
Applicants that are in excess of the above noted workload limits will not have their applications considered unless they have received prior written approval from the appropriate Dean and the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities

Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses in the psychology of maturation in an academic setting.
Specifically, influences of brain maturation on psychological development and vice versa, and the implications for behaviour.
The instructor must be available through regular office hours and appointments for supervision and contact with students.
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
