About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for POLI 1P91 Fall D2, a course titled 'Courts and Politics: Great Cases in Constitutional Law'. This course focuses on Constitutional cases, past and current, Canadian and non-Canadian, as an introduction to fundamental issues in the study of politics, and to the analysis of political and social phenomena. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group.
Requirements
- PhD in Political Science with a focus in law and politics in a Canadian context.
- PhD candidates (with course work and comprehensive exams complete) with relevant teaching experience will also be considered.
- Must have experience in teaching large first year courses.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent.
Benefits
- Compensation effective September 1, 2026 - $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally)
- Compensation effective September 1, 2026 - $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally)
