The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Binghamton University is seeking to fill two (2) tenure-track Instructor positions. These positions are ideal for educators committed to excellence in undergraduate engineering education, pedagogy development, student mentoring, and preparing a skilled engineering workforce. The successful candidates will primarily focus on teaching the department's core undergraduate curriculum, which includes foundational courses in areas such as thermofluids, mechanics, dynamics and vibration, materials, manufacturing, and design. Responsibilities will encompass teaching undergraduate courses, contributing to curriculum development, mentoring students, and supporting experiential learning activities and capstone design projects. Beyond teaching, candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership, scholarship, and engagement within the broader engineering education community. This may involve scholarly work in engineering education, curriculum innovation, and/or mentoring undergraduate students in research or project-based inquiry. Service activities, such as ABET accreditation and industry liaison, are also expected to support the department's and college's mission and growth. Tenure-track instructors are teaching professors eligible for tenure after seven years of continuous service, with a regular teaching load of six courses per academic year.
