About The Position

The Biology, Environmental Science, and Sustainable Development Department at Taylor University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biology. The appointee will teach courses within the Biology Program, which may include human anatomy and physiology laboratories, organismal biology, microbiology, and upper-level or field-based courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates with expertise in comparative and human anatomy and physiology, integrative or organismal biology, microbiology, or related areas are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to creative and effective undergraduate teaching. Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in biological disciplines related to anatomy, integrative or organismal biology, microbiology, or related fields is preferred; Masters degrees will be considered.
  • Excellence in teaching, including integration of faith in the classroom and discipline is required.

  • Candidates with expertise in comparative and human anatomy and physiology, integrative or organismal biology, microbiology, or related areas are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of continued research experience or prior post-doctoral research experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses within the Biology Program, which may include comparative and human anatomy and physiology laboratories, organismal biology, microbiology, and upper-level or field-based courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to creative and effective undergraduate teaching.
  • Develop and maintain an active program of faculty-mentored student research and scholarship and to participate in student advising and faculty governance.
  • Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University’s Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
