About The Position

Rose-Hulman is seeking inspiring educators passionate about teaching undergraduate engineering students. The institution's mission is to provide the world's best undergraduate science, engineering, and mathematics education with individual attention and support. This search is for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank, commencing in Fall 2027. The primary teaching duties will focus on undergraduate engineering education, aligning with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs, including contributions to Mechanical Engineering and multidisciplinary Engineering Design. Candidates with advanced experience may be considered for a higher academic rank. Key responsibilities include teaching, student advising, ongoing professional development, and service to the department, Institute, and professional community. A strong commitment to undergraduate engineering education, laboratory instruction, and lifelong personal and professional growth is expected. While research and scholarship are part of the role, they are defined broadly and support the teaching mission. Professional development encompasses continued intellectual growth, including various forms of scholarship, often in collaboration with undergraduate students.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (by the start of employment) in engineering, engineering education or closely related field
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate engineering education
  • Commitment to lifelong personal and professional development
  • Experience that supports our dynamics, mechanics, and design curriculum is strongly desired
  • Expertise in cutting-edge ME technologies is welcomed
  • Experience that supports our Engineering Design program is strongly desired
  • Excited to enhance student engagement and community
