About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for IADM 2Q99 Sound Design for Game Applications for the Fall 2026 term. This in-person course will run from September to December 2026. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group.

Requirements

  • Graduate level is required.
  • Previous teaching experience of at least two years at the university level is required.
  • A teaching history that includes sound for game application as the primary focus of a curriculum is required.
  • A thorough understanding of the history, applications and development of sound in the history of video games, sound design for game applications and interactive sound is required.
  • Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstation software, Unity and the application of audio in other game engines is required.
  • A record of professional activity in the field of sound in game application is required.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
  • All applicable documentation pertaining to any applications must be submitted at the same time with the application.

  • Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course for a 2-hour/week lecture equivalent.
