About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for IADM 1P03 Makerspace Foundations for the Fall D2 term, running from September to December 2026. This is an in-person course held on Mondays from 19:00 to 22:00. The compensation is $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally), effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab. Duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and academic dishonesty cases, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- A university degree
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., through course evaluations and/or academic references)
- Evidence of online teaching experience
- Evidence of scholarly research and/or applied practice related to makerspaces
