About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for HLSC 2P60 Winter D3. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time for preparation, consultation, marking, grading, and administration.
Requirements
- PhD or ABD in History, Medical History preferred
- Ability to teach Western medical history, from ancient period to the twentieth century
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level
Nice To Haves
- Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset
- Master's degree combined with relevant experience will be considered if no qualified PhD or ABD applications are received after the deadline.
