About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for GEOG 2P07 - INTRODUCTION TO GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES. This course is delivered in person. The compensation for the role is $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) effective September 1, 2026, and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally) effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or ABD in Geography preferred, although applicants holding a Masters Degree are also welcome to apply.
  • Specialization in Geospatial Analysis (geographic information systems, remote sensing, spatial statistics)
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience in Geospatial Analysis
  • Demonstrated success teaching large university courses
  • Demonstrated success teaching courses with computing labs
  • Cover letter explaining how you meet each of the 5 listed qualifications
