About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course PHONETICS & PHONOLOGY FREN 2P57. This is a full course with a nominal duration of 390 hours. The mode of delivery for this course will be face-to-face. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of French Studies for this single-section course.

Requirements

  • Graduate Degree (PhD, PhD abd) in an area of French linguistics
  • Record of sustained successful teaching of French linguistics courses at a University level
  • Native or near native fluency in English and French
  • Commitment to and competence in the use of Standard International French
  • Evidence of teaching competence in second-year language courses in French at University level
  • Official student and peer evaluations
  • Teaching dossier
  • References
  • Competence in the use of email, Brightspace, internet, common office software (e.g., Word, Excel) and multi-media equipment
  • Commitment to responsible time management (e.g., course structuring, punctuality for lectures)
