About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for COMM 2P50 Winter D3. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group and involves teaching Communication Theory. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, course administration, grade appeals, and cases of academic dishonesty, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- A PhD in Communication Studies or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in the area of communication theory.
- Demonstrated teaching competence at the University or College level.
- Expertise in online pedagogy and the use of learning management systems.
- A draft course outline (indicating textbook or preferred topics).
- A cover letter and a current resume.
- All required documentation must be included, including letters of reference and course/performance evaluations.
