About The Position
The Instructor, Career Preparation is responsible for coordinating and implementing the career preparation period program for new students in compliance with government and management directives. The role develops and delivers lessons, assesses students’ backgrounds and needs to recommend suitable training programs, supports pre-arrival and arrival coordination, and participates in student employability programs and activities. The position is based at the Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, Utah.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
- Ability to drive a 7-passenger van.
Responsibilities
- Develop, prepare, and deliver career preparation lessons using a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs.
- Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student using background files, personal interviews, tests, and other assessment tools.
- Conduct pre-arrival contacts with potential enrollees.
- Prepare and mail pre-arrival and safe arrival letters in a timely manner.
- Coordinate arrival activities with other center departments.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
