About The Position

The Instructor, Career Preparation coordinates and implements the career preparation period program for new students at the Centennial Job Corps Center in Nampa, Idaho, in compliance with government and management directives. The instructor develops and delivers career preparation lessons, recommends training programs based on student assessments and background information, coordinates pre-arrival and arrival activities, and supports student evaluations and documentation. The role is full-time, with 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, and pays $47,000 annually.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of related experience.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Develop, prepare, and deliver career preparation lessons using a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs.
Perform all duties assigned to an instructor.
Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student, using background files, personal interviews, tests, and other assessment tools.
Conduct pre-arrival contacts with potential enrollees.
Prepare and mail pre-arrival and safe-arrival letters on time, and coordinate arrival activities with other center departments.
Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of service delivery to students.
Prepare related reports.
Participate on student evaluation panels and prepare required documentation and evaluations using CIS and other documentation systems.
Enter case notes into the CIS system as required and within established timelines.
