About The Position
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Instructor for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves delivering lecture and lab instruction for aviation courses, developing lesson plans and course materials, evaluating student mastery of skills, and providing advisement to students. The instructor may also be involved in program and curriculum development, attend staff meetings, and participate in recruitment activities. Aviation courses are typically taught in-person at the CSN Henderson Campus A Building, with scheduling available during day or evening hours.
Requirements
- FAA issued Certificated Flight (II) Instructor, OR FAA issued Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating and Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate, and Instrument Ground Instructor.
- OR, Aviation Industry Professionals with extensive experience or Aerodynamics, or Advanced Aircraft Systems, or Crew Resource Management, or Airport Management, or Airline Operations, or Cabin Service.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Science, Aeronautical Administration, or related field.
- Knowledge in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems
Responsibilities
- Lecture and Lab instruction for Aviation Courses
- Develop Lesson Plans, and course materials in conjunction with Lead Faculty
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
- Provide advisement to students
- Some program and or curriculum development may be requested
- Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested
