About The Position

Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business, an AACSB accredited School, is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for an Instructor/Assistant Professor, non tenure-track, one-year special appointment for the Accounting Department. The Ancell School of Business is composed of five business administration departments: Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing. The degrees offered are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA). The accounting curriculum is designed to provide the students with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives necessary in managerial and administrative positions in a variety of organizations. Requirements

  • For appointment at the Instructor level, a master’s degree, CPA licensure, and substantial experience in accounting is required.
  • For appointment at the Assistant Professor level a doctorate in accounting or an earned doctorate in a related field is required.
  • ABDs in Accounting or in related fields considered.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • College teaching experience is preferred.
  • Candidates should be professionally active and engaged in college / university service or business/managerial experience is a plus.
  • WCSU is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from different backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for first-generation and under-represented groups.
  • The successful candidate is expected to value and encourage all forms of diversity, including neurodiversity.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching load is four classes/courses per semester
  • Attending other duties in the areas of student academic advising and service
