About The Position
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Gerald Schwartz School of Business invites applications for a limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Accounting. This position is for an appointment term ending May 14, 2027, and is subject to final budgetary approval. The Gerald Schwartz School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with various streams, an honours program, a co-op option, and international exchange opportunities. The school is a signatory to PRME, and the accounting program is accredited by the CPA Atlantic School of Business. St. Francis Xavier University is a primarily undergraduate university located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People, with a historic campus and approximately 4,000 students.
Requirements
- CPA designation
- Interest in teaching at a post-secondary level
Nice To Haves
- Interest in pursuing a PhD in Accounting
Responsibilities
- Deliver in-person undergraduate courses in Introductory Managerial Accounting (BSAD 223).
- Deliver in-person undergraduate courses in either Personal Taxation (BSAD 450) or Advanced Financial Accounting (BSAD 426).
