About The Position

THIS IS A NON-TENURE TRACK, PART-TIME 80% POSITION LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN The University of Tennessee Health Sciences, Knoxville Dentistry seeks a part-time non-tenure track Instructor/Assistant Professor. Academic rank is based upon academic credentials.

Requirements

Completion of a General Practice Residency Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry program required.
Tennessee Dental License required.
Current DEA registration required.
CPR and BCLS certificates are required.

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching and supervisory experience preferred.
Clinical experience in all areas of General Dentistry preferred.

Responsibilities

Helps residents develop presentations using photographs, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.
Help develop and implement the program curriculum.
Assists Program Director in the evaluation of resident training in affiliated institutions and off-service rotations.
Provides clinical patient care as directed by the Program Director.
Provides direct supervision of residents in patient care, including treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up care.
Develops programs for resident instruction, to include lectures, seminars, and/or clinical demonstrations.
Participates in educational activities of the department, including advisory board meetings, faculty meetings, journal club, and clinical competency committee meetings.
Supervision of dental residents and staff, as assigned by the Program Director.
Teaching residents, including lectures, mentorship, and/or supervision in the clinic and OR.
