About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor in ADST 4P00 D2 Foundations in Applied Disability Studies. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students, as well as non-classroom time for preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration. Instructors are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent. The position is primarily ONLINE and requires instructors to provide office hours for student support.

Requirements

  • Completed PhD in Disability Studies, Psychology or related field
  • Demonstrated academic teaching and leadership experience in the field of disabilities
  • Experience in Applied Research with persons with disabilities
  • Proven online teaching experience required – synchronous and asynchronous
  • Available to teach primarily ONLINE
  • Experience using Sakai/Brightspace or other online instructional platforms
  • Experience using video conferencing platforms (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)

  • Provide office hours for student support
  • Attend department related meetings via video conference as required
