About The Position

The Instructional Designer supports Oncor’s Talent Development team by designing, developing, and implementing learning solutions that enhance employee performance and support business objectives. The role applies instructional design expertise and learning technologies to assess performance needs, create engaging learning experiences, and optimize the organization’s learning ecosystem. The position designs and develops training and process solutions using Human Performance, Adult Learning, and ADDIE methodologies. It partners with business stakeholders to identify performance gaps, creates and maintains a range of learning materials, administers and enhances organizational SharePoint sites, evaluates learning effectiveness, and performs basic learning management system administration. The position is based in Dallas, Texas, and is hybrid, with three days in the office; additional in-person days may be required during onboarding, training, or meetings.

Requirements

At least 4 years of recent experience designing and delivering learning development solutions.
Entry-level experience working in learning management systems.
Proficiency with e-learning and multimedia development tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Camtasia, SnagIt, Adobe Creative Cloud, and related technologies.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including SharePoint and OneDrive.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, learning evaluation, and performance consulting practices.
Entry-level experience translating business needs into effective learning and performance solutions.
Solid project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal, written, and stakeholder communication skills.
Demonstrated initiative, accountability, customer focus, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to follow current trends in learning solutions, including artificial intelligence and new design technologies.

Nice To Haves

Formal certification in instructional design, learning technology, education, communications, or a related field.
Experience creating and maintaining SharePoint sites.

Responsibilities

Conduct training needs analysis and partner with business stakeholders to identify performance gaps and recommend learning solutions.
Design, develop, deliver, and maintain instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and web-based learning materials using adult learning principles.
Create training materials, facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, videos, process documentation, and performance support tools.
Administer, maintain, and enhance SharePoint sites across the organization.
Evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve content based on feedback and business results.
Complete basic administrative activities within a learning management system.
Manage assigned projects to meet quality, timeline, and stakeholder expectations.
Support content modernization efforts and learning technologies and systems.
Use data and feedback to improve learning and knowledge management solutions.
