About The Position

The Instructional Assistant II (IA II) position involves working with students in mild/moderate programs, including Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in Special Day Class or General Education settings, and supporting teacher needs. The role requires candidates with a combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire is necessary.

Requirements

Experience working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.
Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
