About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience as listed on application
  • Working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties
  • Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current)
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units)
  • Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher)
  • If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
  • In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license
