About The Position

This is a new, part-time language instructor position for the Fall 2026 academic period, teaching 'Débutant: Compréhension et expression orale' (FLS 2622, Section MD) at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) of the Faculty of Arts. The course focuses on the revision and systematization of French linguistic code for oral comprehension and production, including pronunciation, spelling-phonetics, spoken grammar, and active vocabulary. It emphasizes oral comprehension and production strategies through practical exercises such as free conversations, short presentations, role-playing, and authentic communication tasks from the university administrative environment. Individual practice is a component of the course. The course will be delivered online in a virtual mode from September 29 to December 15, 2026, with sessions held on Tuesdays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Requirements

B.A. with a specialization in a field relevant to teaching French as a second language (L2) or a higher certificate in teaching French as a second language (L2).
Two years of experience teaching French as a second language (FLS) at the college and/or university level.
Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent FLS course.
Experience with heterogeneous groups.
Acceptable level of education/experience may be considered equivalent to the required education/experience.
